Here’s 3 tips on how to find meaning in what you’re doing:
1) Put in the effort
It might take an afternoon of putting your phone on do not disturb & plotting out what it is that you’re pursuing. Vision boards, journaling, lists – you know the drill. Don’t assume this all comes without consistent effort. And I’m reminding myself here.
2) Ask yourself how you’ll make a difference
You might be really passionate about a certain cause, let’s say for example you want to support guide dogs. You might struggle to see how what you do in your business can help that cause, well if you take a step back you could think about if there’s a way to volunteer at a sanctuary with the free time you’ve created. You could buy some products as a gift, there might be a way to sponsor a guide dog (like me!) in one of your processes. When you do something to help others, you will feel good about it & constantly discover meaning in what you do day to day.
3) It’s all about the little things
And the ripple effect those little things have! A smile at a stranger could mean they go on to compliment a friend & so it continues. Noticing the small things within your usual routine, will help you to appreciate the full picture when it’s complete or gets stressful.
Are there any ways you focus on meaning in your life & work in ways you might not have already thought about? I’d love to know if you have any more tips.
